Australia Update 2024: The Energy Transition - The Indonesian and Australian Perspective

Earlier this year, Australia and Indonesia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to mark the strengthening of energy transition cooperation and promote investment in energy infrastructure and clean energy manufacturing. The Australian Update 2024 will focus on the green energy transition, looking at areas for Indonesia-Australia collaboration. The main source of pollution in Indonesia is industry (32%) and transport (30%). Within industry, power plants are among the largest polluters, about 150 million tons of CO2 annually. So, the Australian Update 2024 will focus on the domains of transport and industry.

Policy and practise forum: Approaches to delivering disability-inclusive virtual healthcare

The VirtuCare Network invites you to join us for a forum on Virtual Healthcare: Novel approaches to delivering disability-inclusive virtual healthcare at the University of Melbourne's new Melbourne Global Centre in Delhi. The second event of the Asia and Pacific Outlook Series, this event is hosted by The University of Melbourne, The Australia-India Institute, CDAC, the VirtuCare Network and Asialink.

 

This forum will explore the scaling up of interventions to promote inclusion of people with disability in virtual healthcare in India. The event includes:

  • Networking with Australian and Indian health researchers, practitioners and professionals
  • Workshopping avenues for further research and technical collaboration in disability and inclusive virtual healthcare
  • High-level dissemination of the findings of the VirtuCare project
  • Academic and industry experts sharing insights on disability-inclusive virtual health care delivery
  • Exploring the co-design of digital technology to support Community-Based Inclusive Development workers to support people with disability.

Emerging Leaders Forum - Primary – Years 5 - 6

The Emerging Leaders Forum (Primary) is designed for Victorian students in Years 5 and 6, offering chances for them to connect and collaborate with peers from around the world. Students will explore intercultural communication, collaboration and what it means to be a globally competent leader.

The aim of the Emerging Leaders Forums is to provide earlier level curriculum entry points for Victorian schools, enabling them to embed global learning and engagement activities into their teaching, learning and student engagement initiatives. It also provides a learning pathway for engagement in the Emerging Leaders Forum - Junior Secondary for Years 7 and 8 students and the Global Youth Forum offered at Year 9 and 10 level.

Throughout the program, students engage in a range of activities and regular breakout rooms in small groups with peers from other schools and countries.

The Southeast Asia Oration will be delivered by Mr Pita Limjaroenrat MP, Member of the Thai House of Representatives and Former Leader of the Move Forward Party.

 

The Asia and the Pacific Outlook Series provides a foundation to foster debate and create awareness about Australia’s place and relationship with the region, draw upon the University of Melbourne’s expertise and research impact, and, deepen collaboration with partners across Asia and the Pacific.

EOI - 2024 Australia-ASEAN Youth Summits
